Australia's largest traditional Japanese stroll garden, serene year-round.
Ju Raku En — meaning 'enjoying peace and longevity in a public place' — is the largest and most traditionally designed Japanese garden in Australia. Designed by Kyoto's Professor Kinsaku Nakane, its 4.5 hectares wind around a central lake with waterfalls, a dry garden and 3km of paths.
More than 230 plant species mean it shifts with the seasons, from spring azaleas to fiery autumn maples. Bring a camera and take it slow.
