Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers
Australia's longest-running floral festival paints the city in bloom.
Between roughly late September and November, Toowoomba's streets and parks light up in lilac as the jacarandas flower, with November the traditional peak. It's a photographer's dream and a lovely reason to wander.
Seek out the purple canopies along Anzac Avenue, Mary Street, West and Ruthven Streets, plus clusters in Newtown, Groom and Queens Parks. A free, fleeting seasonal spectacle.
