Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers
Australia's longest-running floral festival paints the city in bloom.
First held in 2013, First Coat is a cutting-edge street-art festival that transforms the CBD's streets and laneways into a live outdoor gallery. Over a few days, artists from Australia and overseas paint 30-plus large-scale murals in real time.
Alongside the painting there are free artist talks and creative workshops, plus music and a buzzing city atmosphere. It's how much of Toowoomba's celebrated street-art collection came to be.
