Step back into pioneer Queensland at this sprawling living-history village.
Fifteen minutes north of the city, this volunteer-run village recreates settler life on the Darling Downs with dozens of historic buildings, machinery and a vast collection of everyday artefacts. Wander a schoolhouse, chapel, slab huts and working displays across a leafy park.
It springs fully to life on event days with steam engines, blacksmiths and craft demonstrations. Pack a picnic and give yourself a couple of unhurried hours.
